Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky – After having this once while sitting in the Globe Bar at the Chiswick Moran, surprisingly, discussing watches and whiskies with an old school friend of mine – it dawned on me that I was actually sipping on a blended scotch. Made from three different single malts – Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie, this blend has been well married. On the nose you’ll be able to smell hints of vanilla, spices and oak. Down the hatch, that vanilla and warm spice will be confirmed but you’ll also get flavours of cocoa, mixed fruits and a slight oak – I’d say it has a taste of fruit cake doused in whisky, with a very warming aftertaste. This blended whisky can be enjoyed, by itself, on the rocks or with a splash of your favourite mixer.
This is a very good whisky for the price, I simply found myself pouring dram after dram and even better it’s great for sharing with your friends, allowing you to leave your extra special stuff for yourself (smiley face).
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky can been purchased from most off licences or online from The Whisky Exchange for approx £24
