Duthies 17 Year Old Glen Spey Single Malt Scotch – This Speyside whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks has some delectable flavours. On the nose you’ll smell sweet caramel notes, with vanilla and slight oak – you’ll also receive hints of citrus. On the palate, those sweet caramel notes will be confirmed with a creamy, milky texture – you’ll also get a light oaky flavour developing, with hints of lemon. The finish is very smooth and light, with very modest warmth.
In summary, a very enjoyable scotch whisky that will be best appreciated, as with all single malts, on its own or with a very small amount of water to allow the flavours to breathe as always. I quite enjoyed this Duthies 17yo Glen Spey Single Malt and could easily see myself having dram after dram of this while watching a good flick.
